This story is being continuously updated…. New updates are being added at the bottom…..

Original story (published on April 14) follows:

LG has not been able to build a name and is not considered a name to reckon with when it comes to rolling out timely updates. It has an awful update policy and it is yet to update many of its devices to Android 10.

One of the 2018’s flagship from the company, the LG G7 ThinQ which came with Android 8 Oreo out of the box, is eligible for one more major firmware update in the form of Android 10.

Moreover, the LG G7 ThinQ has received the Android 10 beta update in Korea back in February, but since then it has been over a month for the stable update.

Power users of Android, meaning who are into rooting, tweaking system, etc. can get their hands on the latest Android 10 OS in the form of LineageOS 17.1 custom ROM.

But, for those LG G7 ThinQ users who are waiting for the stable and official Android 10 update, as per the official roadmap shared by LG, it is scheduled to pick up the Android 10 update in Q2 of 2020.

In fact, the Android 10 beta users of the LG G7 ThinQ in Korea have recently grabbed the April 2020 security update which hinted that the stable update was right around the corner.

And going by the latest development, the Android 10 for the LG G7 ThinQ might arrive sooner than expected as the company has published the Android 10 kernel source code on its official website.

Readers should keep this in mind that this Kernel source code for the LG G7 ThinQ is intended for the Verizon and T-Mobile variants i.e. models LMG710TM, LMG710TMP, and LMG710VM.

Although the above information does not give us an exact date as of when the stable Android 10 update will make its way to the units in the US, it at least gives us a confirmation that the base firmware is already available and it won’t be long since the stable update arrives on the LG G7 ThinQ devices.
