Say hello to Rofi, a new jailbreak tweak that offers a quick access dock for iOS devices
Our smartphones have become incredibly capable over the past few years. The latest versions of iOS and Android boast some of the most comprehensive abilities to ever come to smartphones.
However, an area where iOS has lagged behind Android for so many generations has been customizability. Android comes in various forms, all from hundreds of different OEMs. iOS is as closed-source as they come. But thanks to the jailbreak community, iOS users can get a back some level of customizability.
We have covered a number of jailbreak tweaks on this platform before. You can check out our dedicated jailbreak section for many of these tweaks, both released and upcoming.
Today we shall take a look at a recently-released jailbreak tweak, Rofi. What is Rofi you ask? Well, this is an app that, according to the developer, was inspired by the Edge feature of Samsung phones.
Some of the main features of Rofi include;
Show a custom number of apps. Choose as many apps as you want. Scroll down if you chose more apps than can be shown. Move the launcher slider anywhere you want. Long-press on it! Customize the slider’s color, width, height and even visibility! Optional timeout to auto-close Rofi
However, the developer says this that this release is not devoid of issues. Some of the bugs that the developer wants users to note include;
Notification flairs are only visible on iOS 13. Still working on them for iOS 12. If you have a home button you might find it difficult to take a screenshot while Rofi’s dock is visible. To do so hold down the power button, tap home button, then release power.
This jailbreak tweak is available for download for free from Bigboss repository so if you are jailbroken and would like to try this out, head on to Bigboss and search for Rofi.
The jailbreak community offers users a lot of functionality out of their iOS devices and with simple to use jailbreak tools like Checkra1n, there’s never been a better time to jailbreak your iPhone and take advantage of all these tweaks.
