Thanks to the coronavirus pandemic, delay in the release of TV anime Re: Zero − Starting Life in Another World season two has caused massive heartbreak among fans.

To bring some respite to the loyalist, the franchise announced its first official smartphone game, along with the official site for the game. The release is scheduled for 2020 and so far the title is tentative.

The Re: Zero franchise describes the game in these words:

“The game allows the player to become the main character [Subaru] and relive the story of the anime. From there, one can experience the fate of “if you have made another choice at that time…”

The gameplay also includes an original story by the author, Tatsuhei Nagatsuki. The website has also released an exclusive author’s note to celebrate the game launch.

The announcements didn’t stop at this. The official Twitter for the game currently lists the cast and staff names for all those who worked on this new project. You can check out the details here.

Re: Zero is a Japanese light novel series written by Tappei Nagatsuki and illustrated by Shinichirou Otsuka. It’s anime adaptation by White Fox released in 2016. It follows the popular ‘isekai’ concept in its narrative and considered a pioneer in the genre.
