Android 10 continues to make its way onto more and more devices by the day as a phone-makers struggle to make these updates available. True, it has been many months now and many phones have been updated but there are still others that haven’t.

Even as some devices await the update to Android 10, early builds of the next version of Android, Android 11 or Android R have already surfaced, albeit in very limited Developer Preview status.

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 Pro was first unveiled a little over a year ago running Android 9 Pie. The device is set to get updated to Android 10-based MIUI 11 and a few days ago, we saw the first batch of devices getting updated.

The majority of users are yet to receive the update to Android 10 and already, there’s a listing of the same device on Geekbench, running Android 11!! How?

The listings show a device with the exact same internals as the Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 Pro, complete with the Snapdragon 675, running Android 11.

This is interesting because, in its current form, Android 11 is only available on a very limited number of devices. These are primarily the Google Pixel devices. Seeing the Redmi Note 7 Pro, a device that’s yet to get Android 10 in many regions, running Android 11, raised a lot of eyebrows.

Granted, Geekbench results can easily be doctored and the listing might be fake in its entirety but if indeed this is a Redmi Note 7 Pro, running the said unreleased version of Android, that could be a pointer that, maybe the device does meet the minimum requirements for Android 11.

Think of it more like a proof of concept than anything else. Also, seeing as just how popular Xiaomi devices are with the developer community, this new listing could be a sign that, aftermarket firmware based on Android 11 for the Redmi will be available sooner than we thought.

You might recall that the non-Pro version of the same device, the base model Redmi Note 7 also had a few listings of it, running Android 11 pop up on Geekbench’s database a little while ago.

Android 10 could also be well on its way for the Redmi Note 7 Pro. This is after we saw the roll-out of the same to the Chinese variant of this device not too long ago. More on that here.
