New updates are being added at the bottom of this story…….

Original story (published on February 27, 2020) follows:

More and more devices continue to get updated to Android 10 and at this point, most of the eligible devices have already been updated. Samsung Galaxy S9 users on T-Mobile have been waiting for the Android 10 update for a while now.

We have reported before that the update was scheduled for rollout as from February 23rd. Well, while things seemed to be working well in line with that roll out date, there might be an issue as the update has been paused.

Only yesterday, we covered this story, highlighting the plight of T-Mobile Galaxy S9 users. Only a select few users had received the update at the time with many eagerly awaiting it, patiently waiting for the notification.

You might recall that at the time, most of the users were beginning to express their frustrations seeing as they were not getting the update just yet, despite every indicator, from the official website to customer service insisting that the update had been rolled out.

Fast forward to today and it appears as though the update has been rolled back and paused, at least at the moment. For one, the official update webpage has changed for February 23 to TBD.

The same applies to the T-Mobile Galaxy S9 Plus. Needless to say, the public outcry about this move, is real.

So, from the 23rd until the 26th we went from “it’s not available, keep an eye on the software update page” (which didn’t even list 10 as ever having been in development for the S9), to “it’s available, you should get it soon” (that response, in the middle of the night, was just hours after being told that it wasn’t available, and wasn’t even being shown as in development), to “it’s a phased roll out, you should get it by March 6th”, then there are those that are reporting that they were instructed to do a factory reset in order to get 10, and now “TBD”? That’s a whirlwind of 72hrs, and still no straight answer from the #uncarrier.

It remains unclear why T-Mobile did this. We’re not sure whether it is due to a delivering a half baked update or something far more serious. At the moment, only the rollout halted info is available. We’ll be keeping an eye for more.

Update (March 3)
