There is no stopping Samsung in terms of pushing early security updates as it has again pushed in the February 2020 security patches for the Galaxy J6 and J7 Max devices.

Moreover, the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge which was released back in 2016 is being served with the December 2019 security update on the Verizon network carrier.

Chinese OEM, OPPO has also made the January 2020 security patch update live for the users of the OPPO R15 and OPPO Reno 2Z. Let us take a look at the updates one by one:

Samsung Galaxy J6 and J7 Max

It seems that Samsung is trying its best to push out the latest February 2020 patchset for more number of devices. The latest smartphones to join this list are the Galaxy J6 and J7 Max.

What is more interesting is that this update bumps the security patch level of the Galaxy J6 from September 2019 to February 2020. While the Galaxy J7 Max gets updated from December 2019 to February 2020.

Talking about the updates, it carries version number BTA5 for the Galaxy J6 and weighs in around 177.34 MB in size. While the update for Galaxy J7 Max arrives with version number BTA1 and weighs in around 107.68 MB in size.

Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge

Verizon has pushed in December 2019 update for the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge. Both the devices received September 2019 as their last security patchset.

Talking about the new update, it arrives with the version number CTA1 for both the devices. Below is the official changelog along with the screenshots of the update:

OPPO R15 and Reno 2Z

According to a report by BGR, OPPO R15 and Reno 2Z is getting the January 2020 OTA update. The update arrives with version number C.09 for the R15 while the Reno 2Z is getting it with A.17 version number.

The update weighs in around 3.3 GB for OPPO R15 and 2.6 GB for the OPPO Reno 2Z. Keep in mind that the update is being pushed via OTA in batches.
