Rainbow Six Siege coming to Playstation 5 and Xbox Series X, cross-play mode expected

Ubisoft plans to bring Rainbow Six Siege to next-generation consoles like the Playstation 5 and Xbox series X. Ubisoft targets launch day release on both next-generation consoles.

Cross-play is anticipated, it’s just a matter of time before it is implemented. This is something similar to what Modern Warfare, Fortnite and other titles have done with its Cross-platform system.

“Why I can’t give you a date is because those dates are, in the end, on the people doing the next-gen consoles,” Leroy Athanassof(Game Director)

Rainbow Six Siege is about to begin its Year 5 Operation in 2020, bringing new modes, new door-smashing physics and 2 new operators. This week, Rainbow Six dev team officially unveiled year 5’s first season: Void Edge introducing Iana and Oryx.

It is observed that Rainbow Six Siege will release one operator at a time in the Year 5 season. Ubisoft has truly scaled great heights in keeping the esports FPS shooter alive.

Personally speaking, Siege has enough characters already. I think what matters are the little things. It keeps me excited to think about upcoming updates like new door physics, revamped ping system, replay playback function, new gadgets and drone mechanics, etc.
