New updates are being added at the bottom of this story…….

Original story (published on February 4, 2020) follows:

As has been the case in the past couple of years, unlocked versions of devices often get updated first, then the carrier versions follow suit after a couple of weeks. The same scenario is playing itself with the AT&T LG G8 ThinQ.

A few days after the carrier unlocked LG G8 ThinQ bagged the Android 10 update, the AT&T variant of the device seems to be getting the same. A number of users on various platforms have acknowledged receiving the update.

The update can be identified by the new software version, G820UM20i. As you can speculate, the target of the package is LG G8 ThinQ with model number LM-G820UM.

Also worth noting is that, despite this update coming in February, it is still based on the December 2019 Android security patch level.

As is the case with any update from LG, this is an OTA update. As such, it is going to be rolled out in phases. However, you can manually check for it by heading to Settings>>About Phone>>Software Updates>>Check for update>>Download Now.

LG G8 ThinQ was announced back in February 2019 so that makes it about a year old at this point. It features a 6.1-inch edge-to-edge display that LG calls OLED Fullvision™ display. Powering the device is a Snapdragon 855 chipset and a 3,500 mAh battery cell.

There is 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal storage; the latter can be further expanded via microSD card. Overall, a pretty solid device even a year down the line.

Update 1 (February 12)

Recent reports indicate that LG G8 users on Xfinity Mobile have just been updated to Android 10.
