Xiaomi Mi 10 to launch in Q1 this year, confirms CEO Lei Jun
Qualcomm announced its newest processor i.e. the Snapdragon 865 chipset, which will be powering majority of the flagship’s in 2020, back in December 2019.
After that Xiaomi’s co-founder and President of the company’s smartphone department, Lin Bin stated that Xiaomi will be one of the first smartphone brands to launch a Snapdragon 865 powered smartphone.
Cut to now, according to a recent report, Lei Jun who is the founder and CEO of Xiaomi in an interview has confirmed that the new smartphone that will be powered by Snapdragon 865 S0C will be the Xiaomi Mi 10.
In fact, the smartphone will launch in Q1 of 2020. Moreover, he foretold that this collaboration with Qualcomm will continue and Xiaomi will keep up with the trend of launching Qualcomm’s flagship chipset smartphones.
We previously had the Mi MIX 2S rocking the Snapdragon 845 processor and last year we witnessed the Mi 9 housing the Snapdragon 855 chipset.
Lei Jun revealed that Xiaomi has sold over 427 million Snapdragon powered Xiaomi smartphones. Jun also added that Xiaomi will bring at least 10 5G enabled smartphones in 2020 which is relevant to the current 5G trend.
Xiaomi Mi 10 is expected to feature a 6.5-inch display with 90 Hz refresh rate, Snapdragon 865 processor with 5G support. It is also expected to come with 12 GB of RAM offering internal storage up to 128 512 GB.
The device is rumored to sport a 4,500 mAh battery with fast charging support up to 48W. However, all these specs are based on rumors (except SD865 chipset). We will keep you in the loop until we have more information in this regard.
