Overwatch Lunar New Year Event 2020 Weekly Rewards & new Blitz CTF mode
Overwatch has received a new update today & a lot of new content has been added to the game along with Hero updates. The latest patch bears the version number 1.44.0.0 & it is live on all the platforms including Xbox One, PS4, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
Overwatch is also celebrating the Lunar New Year & it is the Year of the Rat. This year’s Lunar year has added new seasonal items including Legendary skins. Some examples of Legendary Skins which will become the part of the game include the following: Face Changer Sombra, Mask Dancer Moira, Samul Nori Lucio, and Opera Brigitte.
Players can also enjoy the third season of the Capture the Flag mode. Also, a new game mode called Blitz CTF has also been added to the game. Overwatch’s Year the Rat will run from January 16 to February 5.
Speaking of Blitz CTF, it features a new way to play Capture the Flag. Blitz CTF mode requires six captures to win the match instead of the traditional three. Players can launch an all-out offensive against the enemy to snatch their flag.
Players can also earn various rewards by winning the games under Quick Play, Competitive, & Arcade mode to unlock sprays, player icons, Festive skins. Each week will bring in new rewards for players. The list of rewards for each week have been detailed below.
Week 1 Rewards ( January 16- January 23)
- Win 3 Games – Jingang Doomfist Player Icon
- Win 6 Games – Focus Doomfist Spray
- Win 9 Games – Monk Doomfist Skin
Week 2 Rewards ( January 23- January 30)
- Win 3 Games – Ancient Bronze Winston Player Icon
- Win 6 Games – Ancient Bronze Winston Spray
- Win 9 Games – Ancient Bronze Winston Skin
Week 3 Rewards (January 31- February 5)
- Win 3 Games – Rat Wrecking Ball Icon
- Win 6 Games – Spring Wrecking Ball Spray
- Win 9 Games – Paper Cutting Wrecking Ball Skin
