[Goes live] Sileo, distinguished jailbreak package manager, to go live for iOS 13 soon
New updates are being added at the bottom of this story…….
Original story (published on December 24, 2019) follows:
Jailbreaking! In comparison with the native iOS platform, it’s quite a different world with countless ways to customise your iDevice. Provided the Cupertino tech giant wants to keep their ecosystem closed, they don’t entertain this practice.
Once you jailbreak (with an appropriate tool available for your iOS iteration), you need to have a package manager to install tweaks. As you are aware, Cydia is the most popular in the community that majority of the tools (checkra1n, for example) comes preloaded with it.
But, what if you jump into an incompatibility issue with Cydia? That’s when you look for an alternative and it’s because of the same reason that developers have started including a spare package manager with jailbreak tools at your disposal.
We have already shared with you the arrival of Zebra as first release candidate update. What hooked our interest today is a tweet that announced the launch of Sileo package manager for iOS 13 in two days.
Expect Sileo to officially ship for iOS 13 in 2 days for the 1 year anniversary of Sileo Beta 1’s release 🙂
(don’t know if it’ll be in checkrain loader or if we’ll ship a standalone installer tool right now — but it’ll be one or the other)
If you are not aware, there are no issues in installing two package managers on a single device. Having an alternative solution will come to your rescue if the primary choice couldn’t get a tweak to work.
Moreover, it all boils down to personal preferences and maybe, you are like thousands of jailbroken iDevice users out there who want to stay away from Cydia. So, you can jump on to Sileo as the new version is coming out in two days.
Bear in mind that the upcoming build might go live bundled with checkra1n. Meaning, if that happens, you will have to re-jailbreak (with new checkra1n version, of course) to get it by default. In case the developer chooses to go with a standalone installer, you can just use that without any hassles.
