Realme XT December security update brings enhanced Nightscape, font change support & more (Download link inside)

If you are the owner of the Realme XT smartphone then, this piece of news might excite you as there is a new update available for the device. It brings in the latest December security patchset along with the major improvements.

Realme has had quite an eventful year as they become one of the top smartphone brands in India, thanks to its Realme 5 series. 

Moreover, the company also took some important steps in delivering the latest security and firmware based updates for all of its devices. To recall, we have earlier reported that other Realme devices like Realme 1/U1 along with Realme 3 Pro have already grabbed the December security update.

Matter of fact, the PiunikaWeb readers must have also come across a report where we shared the hands-on photos of Realme XT running Android 10. 

Realme also unveiled the official ColorOS 7 roadmap for its portfolio of devices, and according to it, Realme XT will be served with ColorOS 7 starting from Q3 2020.

Now coming back to the update received on the Realme XT smartphone, it arrives with the version number A.14 and weighs in around 2.8 GB in size.

The update is not purely incremental in nature as along with the latest patchset, it also adds some features like fast switch toggles, nightscape for the camera, font change support in Theme Store, and some bug fixes for animations.

Interestingly, we have reported back in August about the font change support that was touted to be included in the future versions of the ColorOS UI of Realme.

● Added fast switch toggles of dark mode in notification center

Camera
● Updated Nightscape algorithm of font camera, fixed the probabilistic black block issue

Theme Store
● Updated font change supporting in Theme Store

Known issue fixed
● Fixed the issue of app startup animation splash screen when white wallpaper

The update is still based on ColorOS 6.0.1 (Android 9). Notably, the update will arrive via OTA in batches and will take some time in hitting all the units.
