Talking about innovations in the smartphone world, this year has proved to be one of the exciting years as we got to witness the new design phones in the form of Galaxy Fold from Samsung, Huawei Mate X, and the recently launched the foldable Moto Razr.

Though Samsung got into some trouble with the initial Galaxy Fold devices as many tech reviewers and users reported issues with the screen. However, the Korean OEM was quick to respond to this issue and got the device re-released a few months later.

And it seems like the Korean OEM does not want to give their innovative minds a break as recently, according to trusted leakers and sources, Samsung might be coming with another foldable smartphone.

But there is a catch, as according to the leaks, this time around Samsung might go ahead with the clamshell design which we have recently witnessed on the Moto Razr smartphone.

Though there is no concrete evidence, it could be the next-gen of the Galaxy Fold smartphone. In fact, if we go back to October where Samsung discussed the various foldable form factors on which they will continue to experiment. You can check out the video below:

The leaked images appeared on Weibo (the Chinese equivalent of Twitter), which shows a clamshell Samsung smartphone with a punch-hole at the center similar to the punch-hole in the Galaxy Note series devices.

Comparisons with the already launched Moto Razr are obvious and by the looks of it, the device has some similar traits to it as the Moto Razr.

First off, the device itself is clamshell foldable phone like the Moto Razr, however, there is a dual-camera setup unlike the single-camera setup in the Moto Razr. Besides, there is a punch-hole in Samsung’s leaked clamshell phone unlike the notch-display in the Moto Razr.

Taking a closer look at the leaked images, it also reveals that Samsung’s phone might have a smaller display compared to Moto Razr. The Samsung clamshell phone also has an LED flash module and a flat Power button that suggests it might house a capacitive fingerprint scanner.

Moreover, this device is expected to be unveiled alongside the next year’s Galaxy S-series devices i.e. Galaxy S11 at the MWC 2020 (Mobile World Congress).

We will keep you in the loop, once we have more information in this regard.
