Smartphone users are now well aware of the importance of timely security updates for their devices. Different OEMs take their slated time for pushing out the updates.

Moreover, security updates are meant to fix the issues and vulnerabilities of smartphones. The latest security patch is the October 2019 update and you can read in detail about it on the Android Security Bulletin page.

October Security Bulletin

And in a recent development, two new devices are reportedly getting the October security update being served namely Nokia 6 and Moto G7. Matter of fact, Honor 8C is also getting a new update but, it gets the September 2019 patch.

Moto G7

At the beginning of this month, Motorola had announced the October 2019 security update for a range of phones including the Moto G7.

And finally, the update is being pushed for the users of Moto G7. To recall, the Moto G7 was launched in March 2019 and is a decent mid-range smartphone.

Coming to the update, though it does not reportedly fix the battery drain issue, it comes with the latest security patch and carries the version number PPOS29.114-134-4.

Below is the screenshot and the official changelog of the latest update on the Moto G7:

Honor 8C

Honor 8C is also receiving a new update but it does not bring in the October patch. Instead, it serves the device with the September update. Note that there are still no signs of Android 9 Pie update for the Honor 8C.

We have also reported that Android 9 Pie might not see the light of the day on the Honor 8C smartphone and this update probably ends the hope as well.

Now talking about the update, it carries the version number 8.2.0.137. However, the size of the update is unknown. Below is the screenshot of the update:
