Activision recently added a new member to the popular Call of Duty franchise and predictably called it Call of Duty Mobile. As you may have guessed, it’s a mobile version of the fully-fledged Call of Duty game that borrows a few cues from most recent games.

One of the features the mobile game has in common with other popular games like Apex Legends, Fortnite, and PUBG is a Battle Royale mode.

Seasoned gamers will know that the Battle Royale mode is meant for you to go super-crazy, battling against multiple players (sometimes up to 100) with the sole goal of remaining the last player standing in some really epic arenas.

This is what Call of Duty Mobile Battle Royale offers and then some. But some gamers on multiple OnePlus phones such as the latest OnePlus 7T, OnePlus 7, OnePlus 7 Pro, OnePlus 6 and OnePlus 6T are not having the best moments playing Call of Duty in Battle Royale mode.

Is anyone else experiencing game crashes in call of duty mobile? it’s only happening to me in battle royale mode. my friend owns the OnePlus 6 and has exactly the same issue. a lot of times it tends to happen when scoping, but can happen on loading screens or just randomly the map. no issues whatsoever in the normal multiplayer mode.

Multiple reports are coming in from OnePlus forums, Twitter, and Reddit, with complaints about the same issue – in-game freezing when in Battle Royale mode. The game seems okay when played in multiplayer mode, which implies this could be a bug in the game.

While the most affected devices seem to be OnePlus phones, the same issue has also been reported by Call of Duty Mobile gamers on other Android devices as well, including Samsung Galaxy S9+, Poco F1, Moto Z Play, Xiaomi Mi 8, and Mi 9T Pro, among others.

I am getting freezes now, never had em before. I am on a Samsung s9 plus. Also when I get kicked from battle Royale all my kills get wiped and I have to start again. Annoying as I love the BR mode. Had o e instance of a guy being invincible but that could be the lag.

I have times where it happens every game then nothing for a while then it happens again, really annoying. I play on a Pocophone F1.

At the moment, it seems this could be an issue that Activision will have to look into and fix and has little to do with device makers. Nonetheless, OnePlus is asking affected players to send their bug reports to the company via the feedback tool in their phones.

Guys, if you encounter the above crashing/flickering issue. Please directly share a bug report via the feedback tool on the Community app. Thanks.

While at it, also send the same feedback to Activision too.

Tech has been my playground for over a decade. While the Android journey began early, it truly took flight with the revolutionary Lollipop update. Since then, it's been a parade of Android devices (with a sprinkle of iOS), culminating in a mostly happy marriage with Google's smart home ecosystem. Expect insightful articles and explorations of the ever-evolving world of Android and Google products coupled with occasional rants on the Nest smart home ecosystem.
