Apex Legends Season 2 Collection Event – The Iron Crown event got famous for all the wrong reasons. The event was a collection event which means it was a chance for players to grab the Bloodhound Heirloom.

But the store prices for cosmetics were so high that it started a developer vs player war at Reddit.

Apex Legends: Players rage over the event pricing once again

The event was modeled in the format that players were first required to collect all 24 items from the event exclusive store and then they would be eligible to buy the Heirloom. The total price for getting the Heirloom was so high that it seemed almost absurd for a pack of cosmetics.

This led to a heated argument of devs and players on the Apex Legends sub Reddit with players coming up with memes and calling out the devs in an abusive manner.

Apex Legends: Players rage over the event pricing once again

Earlier, the devs had apologized for the prices of the cosmetics and said that the event was modeled in a wrong way by making the Apex packs only way to get those skins.

The new event – Fight or Fright that was announced on October 7 – is a similar collection event and once again Respawn is receiving a heavy backlash for the high prices of the cosmetics.

The new model is similar, but with a small positive change. The skins will now be available for direct purchase. But the prices of each legendary skin costing around 1,800 Apex coins (around $18) and the event packs about seven times the normal pack price, has again made the players furious.

The players took to the Apex Legends Reddit to complain about the prices and said that the prices made it almost impossible for anyone to buy. Some players even questioned the devs asking how they put such high price tag on the cosmetics.

Compared to other games with a similar micro transaction model, the price tag for the skins are very high. Even if the devs made the Heirloom free after buying or earning all the skins, it would still be a very high cost.

Even if a player directly bought all the skins for the Heirloom, the total price amounts up to $168. This is honestly a very high and unreasonable price for a set of cosmetics.

Until now, the devs haven’t replied to these complaints and whether there would be any change to the prices or not remains to be seen. What are your thoughts on the prices of the event skins? Let us know in the comment section below!
