Huawei, in spite of its ban by the U.S. government, is still on top of their game. They brought in the Samsung Galaxy Fold’s rival, the Huawei Mate X, which is yet to go on sale and recently launched the Huawei Mate 30 series without the Google Services Core.

Instead of the Google Services Core, Huawei has used the Huawei Services Core. However, the Mate 30 series devices run on the EMUI 10 which is based on the latest OS from Google, Android 10.

It is a bit surprising for a fact that there was so much hype around the HarmonyOS or HongMengOS, and I personally thought that we would see in the Mate 30 series. But, the OEM went ahead with Android 10 without Google apps and services.

This might be a huge risk as this move of going ahead without Google Play apps and services might hamper Huawei’s global market share. Cut to now, in a recent development, Huawei has rolled out a software patch for the Huawei Mate 30 Pro device that brings in camera and video optimizations.

To recall, the Huawei Mate 30 Pro is powered by the latest Kirin 990 processor and is paired with 8GB of RAM. It has 128/256GB of internal storage and sports a 4500 mAh battery.

It houses a quad-camera setup at the back with 40MP+8MP+40MP+3D depth-sensing sensors. In the front, it has a 32MP+3D depth-sensing camera as well. It supports fast charging at 40W and has features like 3D face unlocking and under-display fingerprint scanner.

As for the currently circulating update, it also serves the phone with fixes for features like super slow-mo and dark mode. Not only this there is more to this update as it also brings in a new AOD (Always On Display) feature and the dark mode now supports more apps.

The Bluetooth issue has also been fixed as some users were facing trouble with connecting Huawei Mate 30 Pro with some cars.

The update carries the version number 10.0.0.125, and is not the first one that Mate 30 has received. Previously, the first update brought 7680 frames ultra-slow mode feature for the camera in the device. Later on, another update was pushed that fixed some critical bugs in the Mate 30 Pro.

And once again, the company has pushed in a new update that adds more features to the EMUI 10 as well as improves the camera and video performance. Below is the screenshot of the latest update:
