Nokia is a well-known smartphone brand, which is the smartphone market for too long. But, the thing is, after reaching the peak point in the global smartphone market, Nokia slowly started perishing from the scene. This was all thanks to the collaboration with Windows where they ditched Android.

This plan backfired because, after a short period of time, smartphone users tilted towards the featureful Android OS and the Nokia brand came on the verge of becoming a name of the past. However, after the takeover by HMD Global, the company was revived as they now finally joined hands with Google to brings out brilliant Android devices.

Now, this gave them a serious boost to stay in this competitive smartphone market, and since then, they have received some accolades that they can cheer about. As per Counterpoint Research, Nokia was ranked No.1 in the list of time taken by top 10 manufacturers to upgrade their portfolios to the latest Android version.

Digging in deep, the report reveals that, 96% of Nokia smartphones sold after Q3 2018 (till Q2 2019) are already running Android 9 Pie operating system. Other OEMs are finding it very difficult to even roll out monthly security updates and then there is Nokia which is marching ahead in pushing out updates.
