Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 Pro briefly listed on official website
If you can designate a smartphone company as revolutionary, no other OEM suits the best for it except Xiaomi. Starting from Mi1, they have shattered all the conventional norms of pricing a smartphone.
During the initial years, Xiaomi partnered with major e-commerce platforms to come up with flash sales. Within minutes into going live, the units went out of stock. And, it certainly increased the demand among the potential buyers.
However, the present scenario isn’t promising for Xiaomi. By the time they made themselves a seat in the top half of popular companies, Oppo gave birth to Realme to challenge the monopoly. Within the course of barely two years, they have launched more than a dozen devices.
And for Xiaomi, the latest offering is Redmi Note 8 series. The Pro version already went official in China. But, the global customers are still waiting for the launch event. You might have already read our post on the confirmation of having MediaTek G90T on Redmi Note 8 Pro.
Owing to the Chinese launch, we know almost everything about Note 8 Pro inside out. For the same reason, you won’t have to wait too long to see the phones in the other markets. While we are anticipating it to happen soon, Xiaomi did something unexpected.
They have listed both the variants on the official site and quickly pulled them back. Still, we managed to take a screenshot. You can see a zoomed in version of the image below. Click here to see it in full size.
On the contrary to what they had been doing, Xiaomi opted for a MediaTek chipset for Note 8 Pro. Launched specifically for gaming, the SoC defies its Snapdragon counterpart 730G in benchmarks. Nonetheless, in power efficiency, the latter scores high with its 8 nm manufacturing process as opposed to the 12 nm one of G90T.
When it comes to the global launch, the company hasn’t broken their silence yet. The rumour is that the series is going to go live on October 1. We will have to wait to verify the credibility of the tip, though.
