Samsung, one of the biggest smartphone manufacturers in the world, is on top of its game after the launch of its Note series, Note 10 and Note 10 Pro. Both the devices have been widely appreciated for its design as well as the features they pack.

Now, the OEM’s attention is on bringing the One UI 2.0 which will be based on Android 10.

This year Samsung has been focussed on innovation and bringing in new design elements to the smartphone. We saw an altogether new M-series lineup which caters the budget and mid-range segment totally revamped the A-series with a new set of smartphones.

With 7 models under the A-series lineup, it’s targeted at the mid-range & upper mid-range users.

One such devices is the Galaxy A70 which was launched in April. The main USP of the device is the triple camera setup at the back that houses 32MP+8MP+5MP sensors.

The device is powered by the Snapdragon 675 paired with 6GB of RAM with 128GB of internal storage. The device sports a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED display with a water-drop style notch. The battery capacity of the device is 4500 mAh and supports 25W fast charging as well.

Talking about the update cycle, the Galaxy A70 is under the quarterly update cycle. And now, Samsung is pushing a major update for Galaxy A70 (SM-A705FN) which includes the August 2019 security patch, seems a bit late though as we have already crossed the half-way mark of September.

The main focus of this update is on two areas i.e. the touch screen performance of the device and the fingerprint recognition. Point to note is that in last few updates, Samsung has tried to improve the fingerprint recognition of all its mid-range smartphones & this update does the same for Galaxy A70.

The new update carries the version A705FNXXU3ASH4/A705FNODX3ASG5/A705FNXXU3ASG1 and weighs about 201.44MB. So, you might want to have a stable connection while downloading this update. Below is the official changelog for the update;

What’s new:

  • The performance of Touch screen has been improved.
  • The performance of Fingerprint recognition has been improved.
  • The security of your device has been improved.

This new update has been reportedly confirmed by the users in Spain, and Croatia but is expected to roll out to other regions as well. You can always check for it manually by heading to Settings>> Software Update>> Download update manually. If there is no notification for a new update then you need to have patience and let the update arrive in your region.

Happy Installing!
