While we were thinking the Nokia brand is a goner, HMD Global took over it and revived its soul. The first step that they took was to get rid of the Windows OS, which was ultimately the sole reason for the failure of the once hugely popular brand. After that, they brought in the Android OS.

Since then, numerous innovative designs and delivering featureful phones have become one of the highlights of the new Nokia brand.  Keeping that up by partnering with Google, Nokia came out with its first Android One based smartphone in 2018.

This collaboration of Nokia and Android has been fruitful for not only the brand and HMD Global, but for users as well. The speedy delivery of updates on all of its devices has put Nokia on top of the global rankings in case of software and security updates.

As a matter of fact, all the Nokia smartphones sold after Q3 of 2018, are already running on Android 9 Pie, which is quite spectacular as other brands are failing in providing this service. Now, this seems to be the correct path for Nokia in bringing the old glory back to the brand.

Moreover, it seems that Nokia does not want to leave any stones unturned because they recently have rolled out the September 2019 security patch for the Nokia 3.1 Plus smartphone. Taking about the device, it was released in October 2018 and is based on the Android One collaboration with Google.

For people who don’t know, all the smartphones under the Android One program are entitled to receive security updates for three years and major firmware updates for two years. Besides, this project is meant for devices under the budget-category.

The new update for the Nokia 3.1 Plus only brings in the September 2019 patch and not any other feature with it. The update size is around 98MB and will not be heavy to download on mobile data or any stable WiFi connection.

Below, is the official changelog of the update and the screenshot shared by one of the users:

With every update, Nokia is trying to maintain the pace and the top spot that they have earned by a delivery timely update to their phones. Feel free to let us know in the comments below how the September update is acting on your Nokia 3.1 unit.
