Apex Legends is stepping on the accelerator for the content and the lore for each of its character with character special events in Season 2. First it was Octane with his and Lifeline’s chat explaining about how Octane blew his own legs because well, he was bored.
And now, with Wraith special event, Respawn has released the background story for the phasing legend.
The video starts off with Wraith from another world entering into the IMC facility with the objective of finding whereabouts regarding the lead scientist of the project in which she was subjected to torture and experimented with the phase technology.
But the database of the IMC base in Outlands shows up the status of the scientist ‘Amer Singh’ as Deceased. Wraith then locks into a skirmish with the IMC guards until she comes across the Wraith for that world. Wraith instructs her to fight back but she doesn’t.
That forces Wraith to help the other Wraith. The new Wraith reveals that they both are same and she was able to escape the IMC facility and came here to seek revenge.
To this the other Wraith tells that she doesn’t want revenge and just want to know about her identity. As both of them are about to leave, Amer Singh the lead scientist shows up which infuriates the Wraith from another world and she charges ahead to the lead scientist but gets shot by the guards from IMC.
She is almost caught when the other Wraith saves her with the kunai she received from the other Wraith. She gets into the fight and they both tell each other that they won’t be able to make it.
Wraith from the other world then gives her phasing device to the other Wraith and tells her to run and find what she wants as she was able to find the revenge she wanted.
The other Wraith enters the portal and she then helps the other one to fight off the guards and she then escapes to the other world, the world where the Outlands are now being prepared for the Apex Games. With her heirloom as kunai and her scarf, Wraith sets off to find about more about her identity.
The short video pretty much sums about how Wraith entered the Apex Games and how she is determined to find about her identity. The lore helps the players connect with their main characters on a personal level and Respawn has done a great job giving a perfect lore to one of the more popular characters.
