Pokemon Go New Team Go Rocket Event adds shiny Ekans and Koffing

Team Go Rocket is back in Pokemon Go, and they are stronger than ever. Earlier, Niantic removed Team Go Rocket from the game for a while, but now they are back to disrupt the overworld.

Team Rocket has already invaded Pokestops and players are required to defeat Team Go Rocket Grunts and their Shadow Pokemon. After defeating Shadow Pokemon, players need to save Shadow Pokemon by the process of purification.

Team Go Rocket themed Special Research has also been added to the game. We have briefed the Special Research later in the article. For now, we will talk about a new Pokemon Go Team Go Rocket event.

Pokemon Go Team Go Rocket event has already begun and will stay live until August 1st, 2019. Pokemon related to Team Go Rocket will appear more frequently in the Wild, Eggs, and Raids.

Also, shiny Ekans and Koffing forms are released and will be available in the Wild, Eggs, and Raids. Also, the following Pokemon will hatch more frequently from Eggs.

Rattata, Ekans, Sandshrew, Zubat, Meowth, Machop, Magnemite, Grimer, Gastly, Drowzee, Cubone, Koffing, Murkrow, Sneasel, Houndour, and Poochyena.

Raids will feature Pokemon significant and related to Team Go Rocket.

Special Research Tasks named as ‘A Troubling Situation’ have also been added to the game. The quest involves various tasks including evolving Pokemon, defeating Team Go Rocket Grunts, catching Shadow Pokemon and purifying them.

“A Troubling Situation” research tasks have been divided into four stages. We have mentioned below all the stages and their corresponding rewards.

For a quick refresher, Armored Mewtwo is also available for Raid in Pokemon Go until July 31, 2019.

Also, recent data mined research disclosed that Jirachi will soon be available globally. Earlier, Jirachi was made available through special research tasks at Pokémon GO Fest, but no information regarding its worldwide release was made out.

Following a similar pattern, last year’s Celebi was first made available for the Chicago fest, and then after a month, it was released worldwide.

According to the leaked information, Jirachi special quest focus on Hoenn region Pokemon. Players will also be required to catch Whimsur and Loudred.

So, for a while, we have to wait and see when Niantic makes an official announcement regarding Jirachi’s worldwide availability.
