Xiaomi Mi 9T, sold as Redmi K20 in India, recently received the June security patch that bumped the version to MIUI 10.3.7.0. As for bug fixes, the update resolved a media volume-related glitch wherein volume refused to restore after receiving a notification.

As we highlighted in our last coverage, after receiving the patch, some Mi 9T users confirmed that unlocking the bootloader did not downgrade the Widevine DRM status of L1 to L3. Meaning, one could continue watching Netflix in HD, even after having an unlocked bootloader.

Cut to now. Few weeks later, the device is receiving another firmware update. The update’s announcement page reads this particular build is being pushed to limited Mi 9T European (EEA) units as OTA. The public release of the patch will follow shortly, if of course no major bug/issue shows up.

As Kingshuk mentioned in their coverage, since the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) kicked in (coupled with EU’s fair competition policy), the OEM maintains regional builds of MIUI for Europe, in addition to Global, China, India and Russia units. Meaning, specific firmware for specific regions.

As per the specific regional builds, the currently circulating update (500MB+) bears build number V10.3.10.0.PFJEUXM for the European variants, V10.3.9.0.PFJMIXM for Global variants and V10.3.6.0.PFJINXM for the Indian variants.

The patch is June security only. But apart from the media volume bug, it also fixes other issues where hands-free calling duration didn’t show correctly in case of Game Turbo and screen turned off randomly under some cases. The complete changelog (fetched from Xiaomi’s Update server) reads:
