PUBG Corp has given an insight into how their team catches cheat and implements the bans. PUBG currently ranks third on Steam charts and has a peak player count of 734,798 in the last 30 days.

Only Dota 2 and Counter-Strike Global Offensive are the only games that are leading ahead of PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds. PUBG is more popular in the Asian region, whereas Fortnite has taken hold of the North American region.

PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds official YouTube channel has revealed a video in which the head of PUBG’s anti-cheat unit has explained how their team crackdown on hackers and plan countermeasures to avoid such instances in the future.

PUBG Anti-Cheat unit responds to any unauthorized actions that negatively affect our players’ gameplay experience, said Dohyung Lee, head of PUBG’s anti-cheat unit.

He has also explained how his team responds to cheating and unauthorized programs in real-time. He said PUBG’s anti-cheat unit team is always committed to providing the most positive gameplay experience for the community.

PUBG’s Anti-Cheat unit identifies suspicious player behaviour by analyzing player reports and using internal systems. When they find anything suspicious, they look for related logs to identify the hack tool or device used.

The Analysis and Engineering team further investigates the hack tool and prepares countermeasures for the same. They also apply permanent bans or hardware bans if required.

The engineering team then creates a code to avoid similar threats and to combat illegal programs. PUBG’s anti-cheat unit continuously monitors any activity of these sorts and imposes sanctions if required.

Afterwards, the analysis team prepares for any additional attacks by using AI and machine learning techniques.

Here’s what Dongwan Kim, an anti-cheat PUBG engineer said about hackers & cheaters.

“Cheat developers will always evolve their techniques to try to get around ours.” “So we recently created a very sophisticated technical response that makes it more difficult for offenders to develop illegal programs, such as encryption of pointer and memory, virtualisation of codes, section shuffles, and more.”

PUBG team is also dealing with negative in-game behaviour like team killing, teaming, playing the game on a console with unauthorized hardware, improper nicknames, abusive language and verbal attacks. You can check out the complete video by heading here
