As an expansion of Redmi Note 7 lineup of devices, the Chinese OEM Xiaomi recently introduced Redmi Note 7S in India. It’s a 48MP camera device fueled with Snapdragon 660 chipset, shipped with Android Pie layered with MIUI 10. Redmi 7S will basically be replacing Redmi Note 7 in the region.

Until now, while the global & European variants of Redmi Note 7 received updates under 10.3.x branch, India variants received them under 10.2.x branch instead. But things changed with the last MIUI 10.3.5.0 update following which now even the Indian variants are updated under 10.3.x branch.

Well, it’s the same update that brought interesting features like Dark mode, the option to hide notch and unlock apps with Face unlock, along with instigation batter drain issue.

Cut to now. Redmi Note 7 devices are receiving the a new update (sized more than 1GB) that bumps the build to MIUI 10.3.6.0. The update basically brings the May security patch along with fixing a settings-related issue. As for the changelog, here’s what the official announcement page reads:

Wait before you get excited, as this patch is available only for the global variants of Redmi Note 7.

Soon after Redmi note 7 users began talking about this update across Mi Community with most of them complaining they haven’t received the patch yet, a device team’s member (on Mi Community) pitched in, explaining why all devices haven’t received the update.

They clearly stated the patch is not out for Indian variants yet. And as far as we can see, same is the case with the European variants of Redmi Note 7. Here’s what the device team’s member said:

Update is for global variant not for Indian device, please wait patiently it will be available soon.
