The recent Huawei ban episode in the US struck the company hard. It indeed raised a lot of firmware update-related speculations among the OEM’s smartphone users, considering that Android OS developer Google won’t be working with the Chinese company anymore.

However, Huawei managed to grab an extension of about 90 days (starting May 20th), and the company aims to push all the promised updates during this time-period. Among the listed Huawei and Honor devices to receive Pie, the OEM is already circulating EMUI 9 on Huawei P20 Lite.

And recently, the company shared the updated schedule for Android Pie based EMUI 9.0’s arrival on Huawei Mate 20 Lite, Honor 7X, Honor 9N and Honor 9 Lite. As per that, among the mentioned phones, Honor 9 Lite was expected to receive EMUI 9.0 at the earliest in the mid of June.

we would like to inform you that our software team has confirmed the compatibility of Android Pie is expected to be released the final version of Android Pie for Honor 9 Lite in batches tentatively by the mid of Jun’19.

Well, the company is aiming to meet all their Pie update targets right in time, as after Huawei P20 Lite, now they’ve released EMUI 9.0/Android 9.0 Pie for Honor 9 Lite (aka Honor 9 Youth Edition) as well. And instead of EMUI 9.0 the phone is getting the latest EMUI 9.1.

For a quick refresher, Honor 9 Lite is Huawei’s 2017 device powered by HiSilicon Kirin 659 chipset. The phone originally shipped with Android 8.0 (Oreo), layered with the company’s customized skin EMUI 8.0. And for long device user have been eyeing EMUI 9.0/Android Pie’s advent.

The wait is finally over, as the update us now out. Considering the usual case of staged roll-out, EMUI 9.1 may take time to reach all Honor 9 Lite units. So hang in tight as you may get to see the notification anytime soon.

Sadly, we haven’t got hands on the changelog yet, but are in a lookout for more information. So we’ll share as and when we have the details.
