New updates are being added to the bottom of the story…

Original story (from May 31, 2019) follows:

Are you a BMO customer? Are you facing issues accessing banking services through BMO’s app and website? Well, if yes, find solace in the fact that you’re not alone.

A lot of users are reporting problems with accessing BMO app and online banking (through website). Following are some complaints posted on Twitter:

For it’s part, the financial institution has acknowledged the glitch. Their official Twitter account responded to a complainant with this statement a few minutes ago:

I’m sorry you have difficulties accessing your account and I apologize for the inconvenience caused by this situation. It seems that we have a temporary issue with the Mobile app and the site as the system is currently being updated

And as far as ETA for a fix is concerned, it should take around a couple of hours:

would recommend that you try again in a couple of hours

So there you go. The bank is confirmed the problem, and it should get fixed in a couple of hours. If you are affected, keep checking this space as we’ll update the story as and when BMO announces everything is back to normal.

Update 1 (July 30, 2021)

IST 10:40 am: New reports coming in indicate that BMO is down yet again. The past hour has seen a drastic spike in reports from users.

Thanks @BMO for having an unreliable mobile banking app. It just sits forever at the loading screen and does not let me login. I need to check my finances and your stupid piece of garbage app is down…. AGAIN!

so #disappointing , after being on hold for 44 min, there is no answer as to why site and app are down the person on the phone was clueless, #bmo has no concern how this effects its clients. Many of us now sit and wait for access to our own accounts. #ridiculous.

There is still no word from the company on this reported outage and we shall continue to keep an eye on this development and update with new info as and when we get it so stay tuned.

PiunikaWeb is a unique initiative that mainly focuses on investigative journalism. This means we do a lot of hard work to come up with news stories that are either ‘exclusive,’ ‘breaking,’ or ‘curated’ in nature. Perhaps that’s the reason our work has been picked by the likes of Forbes, Foxnews, Gizmodo, TechCrunch, Engadget, The Verge, Macrumors, and more. Do take a tour of our website to get a feel of our work.
