Developers of popular game Anthem announced a new update yesterday. The patch includes multiple fixes, including those related to loot and tethering. Without further ado, let’s jump directly to the change log for the update:

The tethering timer for missions has been increased. Players should now have more time to catch up to their Squad before seeing a countdown timer

The Swarm Tyrant encounter in the Tyrant Mine Stronghold can no longer be reset by the entire Squad exiting to the main menu and rejoining the session in progress

Players are no longer able to reopen chests that had already been looted in Strongholds

Items will no longer have inscriptions on them that are not appropriate for that specific item. NOTE: This only applies to items obtained after the patch. Items obtained prior to the patch will still have the same inscriptions they had before

Masterwork crafting costs have been reduced from 25 -> 15 Masterwork Embers. The amount of plants, metal and parts required for crafting a Masterwork item have also been reduced

While it’s good to see Anthem developers taking care of common issues and bugs, one particular problem has been plaguing the game for a long time now and is yet to be fixed. It’s related to the QuickPlay mode, and yes, even the latest update doesn’t fix it.

Following are some reports explaining the issue:

When joining the quickplay options in Anthem you get loaded into Maps they’re already running and it causes it to glitch out in the enemies just keep spawning and spawning and spawning and spawning one of the really bad ones is clear the path in escape the Dawn Fortress that one every time I load into it on quick play you have to leave it and it messes it up for the people that are already running it for the first time so you guys might want to take a look at that because that’s an ongoing issue that keeps happening a lot you load into stuff and it doesn’t trigger when people leave in it’s just locked you up in the quick play options

Repeatedly getting put into broken lobbies at the minute. Repeatedly landing in missions that cannot be progressed. So far: 2 instances of “Destroy scar caches” once 4 out of 5 were destroyed, the HUD wouldn’t direct you into the area of the 5th and the mission would just hang. 1 instance of “Hunt the beast” but the beast isn’t spawned the mission just hangs there and can’t be completed. 3 instances of joining a mission that has an objective marker to head towards, but every time you try to head towards it, it tells you you’ve gone out of the mission area and teleports you back to your original starting point. I’ve spent about 2ish hours trying to grind out Quickplay for the Trial, so far I’ve managed to complete 2

Here are some reports related to this issue on Twitter that were shared after the latest February 28 update:

Anthem developers haven’t shared the reason behind the delay in fixing this problem, although they did confirm recently that the issue is being looked into.

This is on our radar, we’re looking into it!

Sadly, players don’t have any other choice at the moment than to avoid the Quick Play mode completely. However, rest assured, we are keeping an active tab on the matter, and will update the story (or let you know through a new one) whenever the Anthem QuickPlay bugged issue gets fixed.

Meanwhile, the issue involving Anthem Legion of Dawn armor / skins missing or not showing up is being investigated. Jesse shared a tweet from EA Help where-in the company says those missing their Legion of Dawn items in Anthem should provide info to help in investigation of the problem.
