When ShowBox went down for a week or so in November last year, we came up with an article detailing ShowBox alternatives. One of the alternatives was Cinema HD. Here’s how the Cinema HD official website describes the service:

Unlike other apps, It also allows users to stream Movies and new TV Shows. But the main advantage is – Never shut down and completely free to use

While we’ll see how well the ‘Never shut down’ claim stands the test of time, what’s newsworthy currently is the service is down for FireStick users. Following is the error they get with version 1.4.3 :

There was a problem parsing the package

So turns out the new update is not compatible with FireStick. And even un-installation and re-installation does nothing. Users are taking to platforms like Reddit to share this problem.

Is anyone else getting a parsing error when they try to update Cinema HD to v1.4.2=3 on Firestick? I’ve tried uninstalling and reinstalling it but I keep getting the error. Is The new update no longer compatible with firestick or is there a fix to it?

Cinema HD v1.4.2=3 parsing error on FireStick from TTVreborn

Gladly, one user shared a workaround that fixed the problem for them. And at least one other user confirmed the workaround worked for them as well.

I got the error, so I uninstalled and reinstalled app from Apktime 1.4.2 AF. I got message box that had little box that said “don’t show” click that and cancel then it will work. FYI, this method also works on Firestick

Thanks this did the trick

There’s another workaround in the same Reddit thread:

Here are some follow up messages:

you need the downloader app on the firestick. I opened that, and typed in the link manually, took a few minutes, but it worked

once you type in the link in the DL app, it opens a webpage, then you click on the download link on the webpage, and it will DL to the firestick. Install and open, then skip the update option

Can confirm, this link worked. Thank you very much, you are awesome

And then there’s a third workaround we stumbled on. Here are the details:

Have you been using Cinema HD on FireStick? Are you also facing the parse error issue after version 1.4.3 update? If yes, do try out these workarounds and lets us know which one (if any) worked for you.

PS: Please note that we haven’t tried any of these workarounds, so we can’t guarantee how safe they are.
