It appears Google’s soon to be retired Google+ social media platform is currently down. The service is experiencing issues as users say they are not able to access the platform. I can confirm the problem as I am also not able to access my Google Plus account.

There’s no information on exactly how widespread the problem is, but given that users speaking different languages are sharing the issue, it appears the problem is being faced by users in many countries (if not around the world). We are in look out for more information on the matter, and will update the story as and when we have more information.

Until then, use the comments section below to let us know your experience with Google+. Update: I am able to access Google+ normally now.

In case you aren’t aware, Google has pulled forward the Google+ shutdown timelines. Originally set to be retired in August this year, the social media platform will now vanish in April, the company announced last month. The decision comes as Google identified another bug in Google Plus.

Google says the bug impacted nearly 52.5 million users, including enterprise Google Plus customers. Here are other findings from the investigation:

PiunikaWeb is a unique initiative that mainly focuses on investigative journalism. This means we do a lot of hard work to come up with news stories that are either ‘exclusive,’ ‘breaking,’ or ‘curated’ in nature. Perhaps that’s the reason our work has been picked by the likes of Forbes, Foxnews, Gizmodo, TechCrunch, Engadget, The Verge, Macrumors, and more. Do take a tour of our website to get a feel of our work. And if you like what we do, stay connected with us on Twitter (@PiunikaWeb) and other social media channels to receive timely updates on stories we publish.
