Star Wars: the Old Republic, a narrative-focused online RPG from Bioware, is currently facing a serious glitch. A few hours ago, the game’s official Twitter handle acknowledged a “login service unavailable” error that users have been getting.

We are investigating an issue where players are receiving a “login service unavailable” error. We will pass on updates as we have them. (Source)

While this error was fixed quickly, another problem – empty server list – came to fore.

Since then, the company has provided regular updates on the matter, but sadly, it has all been about ongoing investigation into the matter.

However, the Twitter handle did say the ’empty server list’ problem only affects new logins.

Currently players who are online and playing are not affected, it is only new logins where there is a problem. (Source)

Meanwhile, affected users are taking to social media platforms (1, 2, 3) to convey their displeasure over this whole situation.

Update 2 (February 17, 2023)

11:54 am (IST): Some gamers are reporting (1, 2, 3, 4, 5) that SWTOR: Star Forge is currently not loading or servers are down for them. As a result, players are unable to login.

Luckily, the support team has acknowledged the problem and said that they are working to fix it.

We are aware of players having issues logging into the Star Forge server. We will update this thread with more info when we have it. (Source)

Update 3 (February 20, 2023)

04:55 pm (IST): The recent outage with SWTOR: Star Forge has now been resolved as we haven’t come across any fresh reports concerning the same.

Update 4 (May 11, 2023)

08:27 am (IST): SWTOR players are currently facing an issue where they are receiving a ‘You’ve been logged out due to inactivity’ error message when trying to access Star Forge (1, 2, 3).

The issue has been acknowledged and is under investigation.

05:35 pm (IST): The lack of new reports suggests that the outage has been resolved.
