OpenPlus 6 open beta 8 users are currently unable to answer calls as the Phone app freezes and inhibits the functionality to swipe up or down to reject or accept the incoming call. Going by user reports, the issue occurs only while answering incoming calls on a locked screen.
Several threads (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,11,12) have seen posted across the company’s official help forum within past couple of days highlighting the bug in question, and here’s how some of those affected explain the issue:
When receiving a call on lock screen it won’t allow me to answer. All these issues have been happening since the ob 8.
After the new update I am unable to attend the call sometimes the phone just rings and I couldn’t swipe to attend the call
During a call the call screen gets stuck and buttons do not respond.
When receiving voice calls and phone is locked touchscreen is not responsive and I’m unable to answer the call.
Incoming calls toggle is unresponsive when receiving calls
Touchscreen not responding in when the phone is ringing. Even if I’m able to receive the call by gesture, the touchscreen is still not responding.
The problem reportedly roots in the Phone app and has nothing to do with the display or touch as confirmed by one of the users who did a little testing at their end to debug the issue.
When someone is calling me i can’t answer there call. Swipe up and down not working then. I’ve also checked the display and touch test from OnePlus care apps. Display and touches working fine no problem with that. I think it’s a software issue
The proliferating complaints got reverted back by a OnePlus Bug Hunter (at OnePlus Community), who escalated the case and then came up with the information that the issue will be resolved in the upcoming update. Here’s what they said:
About this issue, it will be fixed in next update, please pay attention to it and verify it by that time. If the issue still persists, please let us know.
Meanwhile, a workaround shared by couple of users is to disable Pocket mode.
Disabled Pocket option. Working now. But needs to be rectified. Thanks.
I’ve found about this problem. When I turned on pocket mode i can’t receive or reject calls by swipe up and down. When pocket mode turned off, I can reject or receive calls properly.After updated to Open beta 8 i’m facing this issue. But pocket mode is a necessary option, Should be turned on. So please fixed this issue as soon as possible.
