Just yesterday, we brought you what appeared to be an official OnePlus 6T screen protector listing on the company’s Chinese website. And today, we have another major leak related to the upcoming flagship smartphone.
Credits first: as with the previous leak, this one also comes courtesy of a Weibo user – for those who aren’t aware, Weibo is China’s Twitter.
Coming to the leak, the image – as claimed by the user – shows the press invite for the OnePlus 6T launch event, which as you can see in the leaked image below, is set for October 17 in India.
The date is correct, as OnePlus has already confirmed October 17 unveiling for the flagship device. Plus, the invite also reveals under screen fingerprint scanning. Again, that has also been confirmed by the Chinese company.
What’s not clear, however, is the significance of that square shaped cut out below the text. Could be for a booklet, but the prominence with which it sits in the invite forces us to think more.
Is it for wireless charger? Agreed, there has been no concrete information about this so far – not even in leaks and rumors that we’ve seen in recent times. But this doesn’t mean wireless charging can’t be included.
OnePlus has already made the switch from aluminum to glass, meaning there’s no restriction on including the functionality as far as phone material is concerned.
If you remember, regarding lack of wireless charging on OnePlus 6, the company had said “We’ll consider adopting the wireless charging technology when the time is right.”
May be, the right time as arrived now.
Anyway, in addition to the features already confirmed, the OnePlus 6T is likely to arrive with a dual rear camera setup (16MP + 20MP), Snapdragon 845 SoC, up to 8GB/256GB memory config, and a 6.4-inch screen.
The device will be an Amazon exclusive in India.
