Hey there! Are you an Instagrammer with an Android phone? Is the app randomly freezing or crashing on your unit? Well, if it is, then find solace in the fact you ain’t the only one troubled. Reports about Instagram freezing are proliferating across multiple online discussion platforms.
At first it appeared that the latest Android app update (pushed out just yesterday) is to be blamed, as reports blew up afterwards. But after digging deep, it looks like that since last couple of updates the app reportedly keeps freezing for many Android users.

A big chunk of complaints can be seen posted across the Review section of the app’s Play Store listing. For a quick glance, here’s a selection of the lately posted ones:
I’ve never had this problem before but now as soon as i login, the app immediately freezes. I’ve tried reinstalling the app several times but with no good. Its very annoying. Fix this soon
I downloaded the new version just now, but it freezes and doesn’t respond.

Instagram is not fixing certain problems although receiving loads of complaints. I have constant troubles with insta story posting videos and gifs etc. so that the app freezes and I have to re-install.

Though, we aren’t sure whether the latest Instagram update or the one pushed before that is at fault, as far as we can see, complaints are proliferating at least after the newest one.
As for an official confirmation, we haven’t come across any word from the company at least on the platforms where users are complaining. We hope the company clears the air on the matter soon, and comes up with a solution to fix up the random freezing issue on Android devices (if the issue lies at their end).
