Recently, we highlighted a Nokia 6.1 issue that has been triggering random reboots (crashes) on the phone. Well, if you have been affected by the problem, here’s good news: HMD has started rolling out a new update that reportedly fixes the reboot problem.

Here are some user reports confirming they are no longer facing crashes on their units now:

I also have TA-1068 and have received the 00WW_2_22E (1 June 2018) update in Australia. So far so good with 4G and location services on …

Same here. So far no more restarts with 4G and location services on after installing 00WW_2_22E in Germany.

germany here. received the update for my TA-1043 yesterday evening. so far so good. drove 50 km this morning, used google maps just for testing and went into the supermarket with my phone in the pocket before work. no restart so far. i guess they finally got it going.

Turned 4G on, no reboots all day, including a 40 minute drivers with Android Auto/Maps working. Normally this would results in 4 or 5 reboots. So looking like its fixed

The update in question – which is around 80MB in size – includes the June security patch. However, the patch information is a bit misleading – it says May patch, along with the same list of changes that arrived with the previous update. Multiple users have confirmed that this is indeed the June update:

I can confirm the update has June Update. Looks like someone got lazy and didn’t update the changelog

They didn’t change the Update notes. They even forgot to mention the June Security Patch. According to the notes, it said Security Patch : 2018-05. But, after updating. It shows 1 June 2018 in settings

So it’s all but official that HMD has fixed the Nokia 6.1 random reboots issue with the June security update. Have you received the update? How has your experience been so far? Let us know in comments below.
