Samsung has started rolling out a new update to its AOD (Always On Display) app. The update – which is currently rolling out to Galaxy S8/S8+ and Note 8 devices – arrives as version 3.2.26.4 and weighs in at around 15MB. It includes only one major change, and that’s a new feature: support for animated GIF on Image Clock.

Yes, now you can add an animated GIF on the Image Clock on your AOD screen. Going by reports from users who’ve managed to use the new feature, the GIF you add doesn’t loop infinitely, which makes sense. However, you can tap a few times to replay it.

Have you received the update? Are you liking the new feature? Let us know your experience in comments below.

Note: If you’re a Galaxy S9 user, you’ll be happy to know your device already has this functionality. For more details, head here.
