New updates are being added at the bottom of this story…….

Original story (published on May 27, 2022) follows:

With somewhere around 1.4 billion users, Instagram is the fourth most used social media platform worldwide, just behind Facebook, YouTube, and WhatsApp.

Unsurprisingly, it is also the fifth most visited website in the world, averaging 6.6 billion visits per month. It also happens to be a hotspot for influencers.

Having said that, Instagram users are now complaining that they are seeing old posts on their feed. Many are furious since they are unable to see the latest posts from the people they follow (1,2,3,4,5).

Instagram feed is not showing new posts. Today my feed just randomly decided to show posts from weeks ago and only ONE post that is posted very recently. I checked and almost all the accounts I followed have new posts, but Instagram refuses to show them in my feed. I am using the web Instagram mainly is there a way to fix it? Like forcing instagram to show posts in chronological order (web version)?

Like some other people I also had my dms turning into black bars when in light mode. Just a couple of minutes ago this issue got resolved by itself. The problem now is the home feed is showing me old posts. Like posts from a month ago. Posts that I have already liked, etc. Is there anyone else that is having the same issue? Update: So the issue continues, but I have talked to some of my friends since posting. Some don’t have a problem and aome others are having the exact issue as some of the comments here.

While we are yet to come across any official word from Instagram on the matter, there are some workarounds that might help fix the problem.

Users can try tapping on the Instagram logo and selecting ‘Following’ to see posts from people they follow in chronological order.

You can also try clearing the app data and cache to see if it helps. In case the issue persists, log out of Instagram and back in again. Last but not the least, try refreshing the feed by swiping it down to see if it helps.
