We’ve been following OnePlus for quite some time now, and based on our experience, we can say at-least one thing about the Chinese company without any doubt.

It’s about the smartphone manufacture’s willingness to be in direct touch with its customers.

OnePlus frequently carries out user surveys, and based on the feedback it receives, the company improves its existing products or tries to come up with new ones.

For example, last month, an official OnePlus survey suggested the company may come up with a mobile payments app/service in future.

And recently, we found a parked subdomain dubbed pay.oneplus.com, meaning the payments service in question could be real soon.

Now, a new OnePlus survey has come to light through which the company is trying to understand user behavior when it comes to SMS.

To begin with, the company wants to know which types of SMS you check the most (aside from personal messages or OTPs):

What kind of SMS from banks matter to you the most:

How frequently you check your bank balance using SMS as well as payments related SMS:

And how often you check bills related SMS:

Please note that this survey is currently only aimed at OnePlus users in India.

Here’s exactly how the company explains the purpose:

This 1-minute survey is to understand the manner in which Indian users make use of messaging. We wish to take note of important words that are widely used and also some of the important details that users look for. This survey will help us understand your needs and improve the SMS app

It’s difficult to say for sure how this feedback will shape up the future of the Messages app.

However, we can still make some educated guesses based on survey questions.

We might see the Messages app getting the ability to make important SMS more prominent. Plus, the company may also strengthen the spam detection functionality.

The survey got live late last week, and is still open. So you are encouraged to provide your feedback to the company (head here).

PiunikaWeb is a unique initiative that mainly focuses on investigative journalism. This means we do a lot of hard work to come up with news stories that are either ‘exclusive,’ ‘breaking,’ or ‘curated’ in nature. Perhaps that’s the reason our work has been picked by the likes of Forbes, Engadget, The Verge, Macrumors, and more. Do take a tour of our website to get a feel of our work. And if you like what we do, stay connected with us on Twitter (@PiunikaWeb) and other social media channels to receive timely updates on stories we publish.
