[Updated] Major YouTube bug disables hundreds of channels
Update (June 11):
So there’s this new YouTube glitch which has barred a very large chunk of channel holders from accessing their own stuff. Error messages like “Your YouTube channel has content but has been disabled”, “A name has not been set for this account. Please try again when a channel name has been set” or “The channel does not exist” is what greets the affected channel owners.
Along with the aforementioned notifications, YouTube account settings also throw a “500 Internal Server Error“.
As for complaints, the company’s official help forum (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10) and Reddit (1,2) are drenched with reports from baffled users trying to figure out the reason behind the disabling of their channels by the company. Some of those affected also took to Twitter to bring the matter to notice – following are some of the recent tweets:
My videos are all on private in my video manager but, i cant make them public, when i do another error pops and and it reads " Your YouTube channel has content but has been disabled". I have no idea how to fix this please help me fix it.

YouTube is aware
Following proliferation of complaints, came a statement from one of the experts (a top contributor on YouTube Help Forum) pacifying the affected users, telling them that the matter has been brought to the company’s notice.
It has already been reported by me, and YouTube are already aware
They furthermore requested the complainants to provide the following information, possibly to catch hold of the affected channels:
1. The affected YouTube channel’s /channel/ URL if at all possible (the /c/ URL would suffice if the unique /channel/ URL is not known), and
2. If possible (if you do not see – don’t worry)- a copy and paste of the error code the monkeys don’t like screen-grabs for.
It’s relieving that Google is looking into the matter, and we hope they fix up the mess soon. Wait, the story doesn’t end here.
Private messaging feature being pulled
YouTube has also confirmed that private messaging in Creator Studio will bid farewell next month, on July 09. The news came from a Google employee saying the feature will be taken away, for it wasn’t being used widely.
As of July 9, 2018, you will no longer be able to send, receive, or read private messages in Creator Studio. All private messages will be deleted and disappear from Creator Studio on that day. This feature was not widely used and this change will allow us to focus on other features and tools that people are actively using!
