Up until now, the list of Samsung phones that have received the Oreo update includes Galaxy S8/S8+, Note 8, and the Note 7 Fan Edition (or Note7 FE). We all know the Galaxy S7 is next in line, but when will it get the update?
Well, there have been a couple of reliable hints so far that Oreo for Galaxy S7 is set to arrive sometime around mid-May. Now, adding weight to this ‘update is coming soon’ speculation is the fact that Galaxy S7/S7 edge users are now seeing notifications about the upcoming update on their devices.
We’re seeing these reports from users within the US as well from those living in other parts of the world. As you can see, the notification appears in the System Updates section. Although the message says it may take a few weeks for the update to arrive, it’s reasonable to say the wait is not more than a couple of weeks now.
