BREAKING: YouTube is testing a new ‘Featured Creators’ shelf in US
Trending, as most of you may know, is a go to option to catch new videos getting viral or gaining immense popularity on YouTube. Bringing in something new, Google is currently testing a new feature namely ‘Featured Creators with 1M+ Subs’ which will show up as a separate section in the Trending tab.
This new Featured Creators shelf – which is basically an addition to the already existing Creator & Artist on the Rise feature – allows you to discover videos from popular creators. However, it’s currently only available for viewers in the United States, although Google says videos from the creators residing outside the US can be included as well.
What different does the feature offer?
Basically, the viewers (in US) will now get to see up to 10 videos under ‘Featured Creators with 1M+ Subs’, with each video being from a different creator. Also, the videos displayed will auto-update every 24 hours.
And not to miss, as the feature name suggests, only videos of creators with more than 1 million subscribers will get to be a part of this new section.
Coming to the source, Google employee Marissa took to the company’s official help forum to break the news this morning.
We’re testing out a new way to discover videos from popular YouTube creators in a new section of Trending called “Featured Creators with 1M+ Subs”.
And here’s how the official Trending on YouTube support page explains the feature in question:
Let’s hope YouTube users, other than those in the US, also get to see this new feature soon. Meanwhile, if you are getting to see the feature already, share with us your experience in the comments section below.
