Good news for those iPhone X users who were troubled by the incoming call display delay issue: Apple has fixed the problem in iOS 11.3, which was officially released a few hours ago. If you take a look at the detailed release notes for the update, you’ll find the following line in the ‘Other improvements and fixes’ section:

Fixes an issue that could prevent incoming calls from waking the display

So there you go, now (hopefully), you won’t get those irritating delays in display waking up when your phone receives a call.

To give you a slight background, PiunikaWeb was the first publication to highlight the issue way back in December. And when the number of complaints further increased significantly, we again covered this problem in January this year.

After that, highly reputed publications like Macrumors and Forbes picked up our story, and within no time Apple responded saying they’re looking into these reports. It’s good to see that Apple has finally fixed the problem in its latest iOS release.

Have you installed iOS 11.3? How’s your phone behaving now? Are you still experiencing the problem? Let us know in the comments section below.

PS: We’re currently compiling an exhaustive list of iOS 11.3 bugs and changes. If you want, you can take a look at the list here.

Currently, I am pursuing Ph.D (Psychology), and have been teaching the same for past four years. Coming to PiunikaWeb, I know it was a complete switch over, but the idea was appealing enough to put in all the effort it called for. My work primarily involves research.
