Update (March 16):

Samsung is now shipping Sprint SIMs to those who received the Verizon ones by mistake, and that too free of cost.

Per say AndroidPolice, here’s what one of the company’s spokesperson told them:

We are aware of a limited number of customers who received a different SIM card with their unlocked Galaxy S9 or S9+ purchase via Samsung.com or the Shop Samsung app than the one they requested. We are in the process of correcting this issue and are providing customers with the correct SIM card that they ordered for their device. We apologize for the inconvenience and advise anyone who has experienced this error or has questions to contact us directly at 1-855-726-8721 or visit www.samsung.com/us/support/customer-services/.

Original story:

So the Samsung Galaxy S9 has finally started shipping, which is good, but some of those who received their units are finding themselves in mid of a weird problem. People who ordered the Sprint variant directly from Samsung are reporting that the package contains Verizon SIM.

There are dedicated Reddit threads where this is being discussed, with a lot of users confirming this goof-up by Samsung. Some of the affected who approached Samsung were told the company can’t do anything in this matter. However, those who contacted Sprint were told they can get a free SIM from a Sprint store nearby.

This is no doubt an annoying problem, evident from the fact some users had to purchase a new Sprint SIM, while many of those who were told they’ll get it for free were disappointed due to lack of new SIMs at their nearby Sprint store.
