Update (March 31): At least one user has confirmed this problem still persists in latest iOS version 11.3.

Original story follows:

iOS 11 has been one bug-full update for Apple devices. Adding to what’s already come to light, here we are highlighting a new issue, wherein reportedly while playing music, the progress bar on the device’s lock screen doesn’t reflect the actual progress – it remains static at 0:00 while music is actually playing.

The following user shared screenshot clearly highlights the problem in question:

The problem is being reported by a large number of users on Reddit, with most of them clearly specifying that the issue creeped in after iOS 11 and occurs irrespective of the app being used for playing music, be it Apple Music, Google Music, Podcast or Spotify.

We have collected a selection of relevant user comments (from Reddit and Twitter) talking about the matter in question:

Same here. It’s a bug and they ain’t fixed in on 11.1.2 so idk if they have fixed it in newer firmwares Spotify and Apple Music same issue

The progress bar on the lock screen is absolutely hopeless on my phone. I use Apple Music, but every song is somehow always at 0:02

I get this too with Spotify. I get so bugged with this bug so I reboot my phone and it becomes ok

Been doing it for 3 months on Apple Music ://

Happens sometimes on my iPhone X. Not sure how to fix it

Every time i listen to music (which is a lot) this happens and i really dont know how to fix it

I noticed the same problem, since the first release of IOS 11. It’s really annoying and inadmissible…they have to fix it, absolutely!

In fact, some of the users running the latest iOS 11.2.5/11.3 Beta 2 confirmed that the matter still stands unaddressed for them.

I experience this on my iPhone 6 and I’m on 11.2.5 and it’s been doing this to me. It stopped for awhile but I noticed it was doing it again earlier. You can reboot the app for a temporary fix but might have to wait for 11.3 for them to fix anything unfortunately

It’s not even fixed in 11.2.5

Not even in 11.3 Beta 2

While the number of complaints continue to rise, Apple hasn’t said anything yet. We hope they address the matter before it becomes a more wide spread concern. Meanwhile, following are some user-shared workarounds that you can try hands on:

Move the slider a bit when playing and it should be working again ios 11.2.5

Happens to me as well with Apple Music, try just pausing or tapping on another spot on the bar. That usually gets it working for me!
