A few days back, Samsung’s latest flagship device Note8’s freezing issue came to light. Turns out, the problem did not limit itself to Note8 only, as now Samsung has confirmed freezing on S8/8+ as well.

To give you a quick recall, Galaxy Note 8 users reported that their devices froze whenever the Contacts app came to picture, while making calls or for texting. The escalating number of complaints got the company to action. Just a few hours back, Samsung officially acknowledged the issue and said

We are aware of a limited number of reports about Note8 devices experiencing an issue with some of their applications

Furthermore, they suggested the affected Note 8 users to update their apps in the Samsung Galaxy Store and the Google Play Store. Here’s how to do it:

Open Galaxy app → Go to → Navigate to Update, then touch the Update icon next to Customization Service → The updated version should be greater than 1.6.04.0

Just like Note8 users, they suggested the affected S8/8+ users to update their apps.

It’s worth mentioning that the freezing issue, both on Note 8 and S8/8+ is being dealt separately, as the mentioned update procedure is different for both. While for Note8 users the updated version should be greater than 1.6.04.0, for Galaxy S8/8+ it should be greater than 1.2.00.
