Update (October 23):

Backup and Sync v3.37 couldn’t fix PC shutdown inhibitions, as we still continue to encounter the same.

Original story here:

Backup and Sync – a common client application for Google Photos and Google Drive – has indeed been a stock house of glitches since day one. But, Google has been making all possible efforts to mend the weak links, and fix the reported bugs timely along with adding new features to the client. Pushing another update, the app’s latest verison 3.37 has been released.

Few hours back, a Google employee broke the news on the official Drive forum, where he also mentioned that the client’s latest version will take a few weeks to auto-upgrade. Although, you can manually download the latest version from drive.google.com or photos.google.com.

While revealing what new has been done, he disclosed that the client is now capable of handling multiple accounts (upto 3), rather than a single account.

With the update, those affected by the client’s excessive CPU consumption, and PC shutdown inhibitions – who were told that 3.37 will fix the problems – are now asked to install the latest version.

Another issue that wasn’t acknowledged, but is now claimed to be fixed with v3.37’s arrival, is the random sync-notifications that popped-up on the left uppercorner of screen, whenever Drive synced or changed anything.

Apart from offering multiple account support, we are hopeful that the updated version will act as a pill, at least for some of the bug-affected Backup and Sync users.
