YouTube acknowledges ‘Verify account’ message bug, says fixed being worked on
YouTube users are reporting about a ‘VERIFY ACCOUNT’ message that’s showing up next to videos under the title. What’s confusing is that those who are getting this message are already verified account holders.
Here’s how an affected user explained the issue:
It shows up in every video list of every YouTube channel
A good number of users on Twitter and Reddit have been sharing this recently.

One of the affected users mentioned that the notification started showing up after updating the YouTube app on iOS. He further added that tapping on the ‘verify account’ message does nothing, but holding it for a while shows up options like Add to Watch later and Add to playlist – that appear in the three dot Menu.
Interestingly, while majority says the notification is displayed next to every video, irrespective of the channel, some are reporting seeing it only for videos that they have subscribed for.
With more complaints pouring in, YouTube acknowledged the issue while addressing a user on Twitter. The company said:
This is a known issue we’re actively working on
Here’s the complete statement
Hi there. This is known issue we're actively working on. There's no fix just yet, but we'll let you know when it's resolved.

Though the user who initiated the issue on Reddit updated that the problem has been fixed for them, there’s no official word from the company yet. It could be possible that the fix is rolling out, but has not reached all affected users.
