Subscriber count for YouTube users going haywire again, fix being worked on
Looks like the Subscription feature is one of the weak strings in YouTube, as it goes out of order every now and then. Back in February, a glitch resulted in loss of subscriber count (the service accidentally started to unsub two in place of one). And now, there’s a slightly varied problem plaguing YouTube Subscriptions.
This time, not only drop, but sudden rise in subs count is what’s being talked about.
@TeamYouTube crazy sub losses & sub gains for many different YouTubers over the last 48hrs.. Do you know why?

With a mixed bag of issues – some about reducing sub count and others about sub gains – it’s clear that fluctuating sub count is back once again to freak out YouTubers.
The company’s take on the issue came to notice when it addressed one of the affected users on Twitter. The response was they are aware of the away from normal ‘increase in sub count’ for some channels in past few days, and are working on the fix.
We're still looking into it! This is what we know so far and will keep you posted as we learn more: https://t.co/hOWQ3GO4O2

Here’s what YouTube Help page conveys about the issue in question.
Interestingly, YouTube has only acknowledged problem faced by those that are talking about increasing subs. There’s no word for those troubled with dropping sub count (that’s not happening for the first time, may be?). Anyway, if the problem concerns you as well, keep a tab here as we’ll keep you updated on related developments.
